Grave Street Blues announce new 7″ “New Devil”

Grave Street Blues, A six-piece Rock and Roll band from Melbourne comprised of ex-members from No Way Out and Ikarii, meshing styles to bring you that classic Rock and Roll sound that people are drawn to adding their own punk rock twist, giving the boys the sound that they’re rapidly becoming renowned for.

After releasing their first demo early 2015, Grave Street Blues have wasted no time getting back into the studio to bring you “New Devil” a four track 7” which is the collaboration of genres, created by musicians who are no stranger to live music. After years working on separate projects, the collective experience produces a sound that is both fresh and new but oddly familiar.

This four song 7’’ is just a welcoming sample of what Grave Street Blues have to offer. Although new, they are a band that should not be over looked or taken lightly leaving your Gaslight Anthem or Against Me fan wanting more of this sounds that is Grave Street Blues

Few Australian hardcore bands have achieved the renown and respect of their peers that Relentless have. Their hard work touring both nationally and internationally since the release of their debut demo in 2006 has paid off, and the Sydney quartet are now set to release their second full-length, Turn The Curse, on 25 January 2013.

Following a national support slot on Trapped Under Ice’s second Australian tour earlier this year, Relentless decided to return to the studio, this time deciding to take a step up and source outside production help. Enter Nick Jett (Terror, Piece By Piece) into the picture, not only to produce the record in Sydney, but also to track and mix the final product.

Relentless and Nick hit the studio for a bit over two weeks of gruelling recording at the end of June, where the whisper is that that final result will be a follow up of pure hardcore gold. With plans of a January release here in Australia, the band already have an extensive touring schedule planned from release until June 2013.

“This is by far our best work to date with the strongest line up Relentless has had,” said vocalist Trent Baldock of the album. “I think we all knew it was time to step up, not just with the riffs and the lyrical writing, but with the structure of the songs as well. That’s why we brought Nick Jett in to produce. Being able to actually take the time to take a step back and listen to what we had written, and trying to perfect it before we laid the tracks in the studio with Nick was a new experience and a huge learning curve for us.”

Almost three years in the works, the end result of Turn The Curse is an album that not only goes beyond the expectations of the band, but will set the benchmark for hardcore releases in 2013.

Turn The Curse will be released through Dogfight Records on 25 January 2013.

Announcing Takedown 2012

With the annual Takedown Festival now in it’s fourth year, the team from Dogfight Records have brought together their best and most diverse line up yet, bringing together bands from all sides of the punk and hardcore coin and from all over Australia to play on one line up this November.

As with previous years, the Takedown 2012 is a celebration of the old and the new, a look at where Australian hardcore has come from and where it is heading in the future.

Headlining in 2012 will be Australian hardcore legends Hit List. Takedown will be the band’s second show since reforming to celebrate the re-release of their debut, self-titled record.

Sydney’s Relentless will also be on the bill, keen to show off new tracks from their third album. Recorded with Nick Jett [Terror], Turn The Curse is set to drop this November.

Add to this Mark My Words from the Central Coast, Melbourne’s punk rock heroes Anchors, Thick Skin from Brisbane, Melbourne’s newest heavy mosh outfit Thorns, brand new Sydney heavy hardcore act Hell On Earth, and with Final Frontier rounding off the bill this is one hardcore line up that is not to be missed.

Takedown 2012 takes place on Saturday 17 November at The Wall at the Bald Faced Stag in Sydney. Tickets go on sale Monday 22 October.
